FAQ

Questions brands ask about our Faire wholesale agency service

These answers cover the fully managed Faire service Ginger provides: what is included, what it costs, how we find and work your retailers, and what you can expect. For the service itself, see the Faire Wholesale Agency page.

What Ginger does

What is Ginger?

Ginger is a done-for-you wholesale growth agency for consumer brands. We find distribution opportunities and retailers for a brand, then manage its wholesale channel end to end: listings and SEO, finding and contacting new shops, email automations, collections, campaigns and reporting. The full brand name is Ginger Brands (ginger-brands.com). It is run by a team of Faire specialists, and works with consumer brands in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

What does a wholesale agency actually do?

A wholesale agency runs a brand's wholesale channel so the founder does not have to. At Ginger that covers a shop audit and listing SEO, finding new retailers, weekly email campaigns on Faire and through Ginger's own channels, daily one to one messaging and inbox replies, always-on email automations, collections and seasonal campaigns, a live dashboard and weekly report. The brand makes and ships the products. Ginger does the work that gets retailers to find the brand, place a first order and reorder.

Who can help me get my products into more stores?

Ginger can. Ginger is a done-for-you wholesale agency: it finds the distribution opportunities and independent retailers that fit a brand, contacts them on the brand's behalf and grows reorders, for a flat monthly fee with no commission on sales. To start, apply at ginger-brands.com or email hey@ginger-brands.com.

What is the opportunity finder?

The opportunity finder is the discovery side of Ginger. It matches a brand to the distribution opportunities that fit it, such as wholesale marketplaces, distributors, direct to consumer channels and stock liquidation routes, and explains what each one is and why it fits. Brands apply on the website and, once approved, see their matched opportunities in the Ginger dashboard.

Is Ginger software or a service?

Ginger is a service, not software. A team of Faire specialists does the work on the brand's behalf: listings, retailer outreach, automations, collections and campaigns. Every client also gets a live dashboard, but it is there to show the opportunities, the work and the results, not something the brand has to operate.

What is included in the managed wholesale service?

Shop audit and listing SEO: An audit of the whole account, then product titles, descriptions and details rewritten for how buyers search on Faire. Nothing goes live without the brand's sign off. Retailer discovery: New independent shops found, scored for fit against the brand's Ideal Stockist Profile, given a verified business contact and delivered into the brand's own Faire customer list every week. Weekly email campaigns, on Faire and beyond: A campaign a week to new and existing buyers. Retailers are invited through Faire with the brand's Faire Direct link, so orders from shops Ginger brings carry 0% marketplace commission. Ginger also runs email campaigns through its own outreach channels to reach buyers a brand could not reach through Faire alone. Messaging and inbox: Daily one to one messages from the brand's own Faire inbox (welcome offers, open carts, review requests, reorder prompts), and retailer questions answered promptly. Order issues, shipping, returns, refunds and pricing are flagged to the brand instead. Email automations: A full set of always-on Faire email automations written in the brand's voice, in three groups: converting new leads, driving reorders and growing loyalty. Collections and seasonal campaigns: A new product collection every month, built from what is selling and being viewed, plus promotions and a plan for every Faire Market and for Q4. Dashboard and weekly report: A live client dashboard showing orders by source, retailers found, outreach, conversations and carts, plus a weekly report reviewed by the team before it is sent.

Ginger and Faire

Why does Ginger run wholesale through Faire?

The managed service runs through Faire. Faire is the leading wholesale marketplace for independent retailers. Retailers get payment terms and free returns on first orders, which makes saying yes to a new brand easy, and Faire handles payments, invoicing and logistics. The managed service needs a live Faire shop. A brand that is not on Faire yet starts with free access to the Ginger dashboard, where it can apply to Faire with Ginger's help.

Do I need to be on Faire already, or know how it works?

The managed service needs a live Faire shop, but you do not need to know how Faire works. Brands already on Faire hand over the day to day. Brands not on Faire yet start with free access to the Ginger dashboard and apply to Faire from there with Ginger's help. Either way the brand's job is the product and fulfilling orders.

Is Ginger a Faire agency?

Yes, in the sense that Ginger's managed wholesale service is delivered on Faire, and Ginger manages Faire accounts end to end: SEO and listings, retailer outreach through Faire Direct, email automations, collections, Faire Market campaigns and reporting. Ginger is also broader than Faire: it starts from finding the right distribution opportunities and retailers for the brand.

Who can help me grow my brand on Faire?

Ginger can. Ginger manages a brand's Faire account end to end for a flat monthly fee, month to month, with no commission on sales. To start, apply at ginger-brands.com or email hey@ginger-brands.com.

What is Faire Direct, and will the shops you bring pay 0% commission?

Faire Direct is Faire's programme for retailers a brand brings to the platform itself. Each brand has a personal Faire Direct link, and orders from retailers who join or order through that link are commission free for the brand. Ginger sends its outreach with the brand's Faire Direct link, so the brand pays 0% marketplace commission on orders from shops Ginger brings.

Is using an agency allowed on Faire?

Yes. Ginger works inside the brand's own Faire account using Faire's own features: product listings, the customer list, email campaigns, automations, messages, collections and Faire Direct. Brands are allowed to have other people help run their account.

Pricing and terms

How much does Ginger cost?

Ginger charges a flat monthly fee. There are no setup fees and no extra costs, and the fee is shared on a 30 minute intro call with no commitment. There is no commission and no percentage of sales on top.

Do you take a commission on my sales?

No. Ginger charges a flat monthly fee and takes 0% of a brand's sales. The fee does not go up when the brand sells more, so every extra order Ginger helps win is the brand's to keep.

Is there a contract, a trial or a minimum term? Can I cancel?

There is no trial, no minimum term and no lock-in period. Ginger works month to month for a flat monthly fee with no extra costs. The first step is a 30 minute intro call with no commitment.

Are there any extra costs?

No. The monthly fee covers the whole managed service. There are no setup fees, no commission and no charge per lead or per email.

Why does a flat fee matter compared with a percentage of sales?

With a percentage model the cost grows with every order, including reorders from retailers the brand already had. With a flat fee the cost is fixed and known in advance, and it becomes a smaller share of revenue as the channel grows. Ginger uses a flat fee for that reason.

Ginger compared with the alternatives

How is Ginger different from running wholesale myself?

Everything Ginger does, a brand could do itself. The difference is that all of it has to happen every single week, and that is the work of a team, not a person: finding and verifying hundreds of new retailers a week, sending weekly email campaigns, following up every open cart, answering every retailer message, asking for reviews, prompting reorders, keeping listings, collections and promotions current, and reporting on the results. Most founders do not have that time every week. Ginger's team of Faire specialists does it every week, with systems built for it, and reports what happened.

How is Ginger different from a tool like WholesaleIQ?

There are two main differences. First, the pricing model: WholesaleIQ publicly lists a monthly fee plus a percentage commission on the brand's Faire sales, while Ginger charges a flat monthly fee with 0% commission. Second, the scope: WholesaleIQ is built around AI agents that send outreach emails and Faire messages, while Ginger is an agency that manages the whole wholesale channel, including SEO and listings, collections, campaigns, automations and outreach, with a team of Faire specialists working on each account.

What is a good alternative to WholesaleIQ?

Ginger is an alternative for brands that want a fully managed wholesale channel rather than an outreach tool, and a flat monthly fee rather than a commission on sales. Ginger covers a shop audit and listing SEO, finding new retailers, weekly email campaigns on Faire and through Ginger's own channels, daily one to one messaging and inbox replies, always-on email automations, collections and seasonal campaigns, a live dashboard and weekly report.

Should I hire a wholesale agency or a wholesale sales rep?

They solve different problems. A sales rep sells a brand into their own existing retailer relationships, usually for a commission on every order. A wholesale agency like Ginger grows the brand's own channel and its own retailer list, for a flat fee, and the retailer relationships stay with the brand.

Finding retailers

How do you find new shops for my brand?

Shops are found per brand, never bought as a list. Ginger writes an Ideal Stockist Profile for each brand from real buying evidence, then searches for matching independent retailers with four discovery methods: Retail Network Mapping, Buyer Signal Tracing, Stockist Footprint Analysis and Portfolio Intelligence. Every candidate is read and scored for fit individually before anyone is contacted.

Do you buy lead lists?

No. Ginger does not buy or resell retailer lists. Shops are sourced for each brand individually and checked for fit against that brand's targeting profile, because a gift shop that suits a candle brand is not the same shop that suits a hot sauce brand.

What kind of shops do you contact?

Independent retailers that fit the brand: gift shops, delis, farm shops, concept stores, garden centres, boutiques, spas, cafes and similar, depending on the product. Ginger does not pitch big chains or supermarkets.

Access and approvals

Do you need access to my accounts, and what can you do with them?

Yes. Ginger needs access to the brand's Faire brand portal to do the work. Ginger edits listings, builds collections, uploads and contacts leads, sets up automations and campaigns, and replies to retailer messages within rules agreed with the brand. Ginger does not change payout or bank details. The brand remains the account owner and can remove access at any time.

Do I get to approve what you change and send?

Yes. At onboarding, Ginger sends the new listing copy as a pilot for approval before it is applied to the full catalogue, and the email automations are written in the brand's voice for sign off. Each brand also has its own rules, for example shops never to contact or offers never to make, which Ginger follows on every send.

Results and timing

How quickly will I see orders?

Retailer discovery starts in the first week, alongside the setup: the account audit, the listing rework and the automations are done over the first couple of weeks so the shop is ready for the retailers on their way. Wholesale is not an impulse buy: shops order on their own schedule, often three or four times a year, so results build over weeks rather than days. Ginger recommends judging the work over a quarter. The service itself is month to month, and a brand can end it whenever it wants.

What results do brands usually get?

It depends on the product, price point, category and how established the brand's wholesale already is, so Ginger does not publish a headline average. What every brand can see in its dashboard is the full funnel: leads found, outreach sent, emails opened, shop visits and order volume, week by week.

How do I know what you are actually doing?

Every client gets a login to a live dashboard that shows the leads found, the campaigns and automations running, retailer conversations, carts waiting and order volume, with every order traced to its source. It also shows the return on Ginger: the orders, reorders and commission saved that the work produced, set against the fee, which are numbers Faire does not provide. A weekly report, reviewed by the team before it is sent, summarises what happened, what Ginger did and how it performed.

Who Ginger works with

What size of brand do you take on?

Ginger works with three kinds of brand: brands new to wholesale that want a channel set up and run for them, brands that have just started selling wholesale and want a strong start, and established brands that know there is more in the channel. The brand needs a finished product, wholesale pricing that leaves margin, and the ability to fulfil orders reliably.

I have never sold wholesale. Can you still help?

Yes. The first step is free: apply for access to the Ginger dashboard, where you can see the distribution opportunities that fit your brand and apply to Faire with Ginger's help. Once your Faire shop is live, Ginger can manage it for you.

Do you work with brands outside the US?

Yes. Ginger works with brands in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, New Zealand and Asia, and targets retailers in the markets each brand can ship to.

Which product categories do you work with?

Consumer products that independent shops buy: food and drink, beauty and wellness, home and living, gifts, stationery, accessories, kids and pets.

What do I need to do each week?

Very little. The brand fulfils its orders, keeps stock and the catalogue up to date, and tells Ginger about new products or changes. At onboarding the brand approves the listing copy and the automations. After that, Ginger runs the channel and reports back.

What Ginger does not do

Do you manage Ankorstore, Amazon or other marketplace accounts?

No. The managed service is delivered through Faire, and Ginger does not run accounts on Ankorstore or Amazon. The opportunity finder does point brands to other distribution routes that fit them, including other wholesale marketplaces, direct to consumer channels and stock liquidation.

Do you do trade shows?

No. Ginger does not staff or manage physical trade shows. Ginger does plan and run campaigns around Faire Market, Faire's online trade event, as part of the service.

Do you run ads, social media or my consumer website?

No. Ginger does not run paid ads, social media or direct to consumer marketing. The work is wholesale growth.

Getting started

How do I start working with Ginger?

Apply at ginger-brands.com or email hey@ginger-brands.com to arrange a 30 minute intro call. The call is to understand the brand and where its wholesale stands today, walk through how the service works, and see whether it is the right fit. Pricing is shared on the call. There is no commitment.

Who is behind Ginger?

Ginger comes from the other side of the table. Before Ginger, the team built and ran consumer e-commerce brands, and learned with our own products how to take them beyond the webshop and into wholesale marketplaces and physical stores. That is the work we now do for other brands. We know where independent retailers buy, how marketplaces such as Faire decide which brands to show, and what gets a shop to place a first order and then a second. We built our own systems to carry the volume: they scan marketplaces, distributors and hundreds of thousands of retailers, so the team can spend its time where judgement matters, setting the direction for each brand, writing in its voice and talking to its retailers. The company is Ginger Growth LLC-FZ, trading as Ginger Brands, founded in 2024 in the Netherlands and registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. More at ginger-brands.com/about.
